my pet peeve is when someone ignores you
like if we have a problem then let’s fucking address it
Tell me about it… Sigh. People need to grow up.
Here’s your chance. And you have about a month to do it.
I can’t get over the balderdash they threw at us the other day, which, apparently, they consider an episode synopsis. So, it’s time for some classroom activities.
Here’s the episode synopsis (for 5x11):
Angela discovers a spicy tea that brings unexpected romantic consequences.
Yes, that’s it. Awesome, right? That’s exactly why we’re all watching the show.
Anyway, when you’re done being awestruck and ready to talk business, try to turn this into a fanfic that will be better than what we’ll be getting in the actual episode on August 26. Here are your parameters:
- Angela and that spicy tea have to be in it
- there have to be romantic consequences (can be between Jo Friday & one of Korsak’s dogs, or, you know… between some other characters that might have enough chemistry to be a couple… I’m sure you’ll find some in the show)
- no damn baby (unless it’s dancing cha-cha and singing Hooked on a Feeling)
- make it funny and fluffy
- and above all, stay in-character! Seriously, no weak, whiny Maura; no baby-infatuated, domesticated Jane; no from-friendship-to-marriage-within-three-sentences kinda crap (unless it’s obviously a parody)!
Got it? Great! Have fun! Let me see the result if you dare… :-P
And for those of you who don’t write, here’s your second activity:
Take the above episode synopsis and show it to people who don’t watch the show. Ask them what they think the show is about. Like: Who’s the main character? What genre is it? Is it realistic or has it elements of fantasy? What is the main character’s profession? And so on.
Seriously, the answers will make you laugh your ass off… or at least make you facepalm for the rest of the week.
I think this is a wonderful idea so anyone that does this will have their story put on this blog :)
Hoping that if you’re a writer and haven’t seen this, you’ll do it!! I know I can’t, but I know some of you can and definitely should!
